Video Game Overkill?
It started years ago with Luigi and Mario, and eventually we were participating in the Olympics, running on a powerpad (now most would reference it to dance dance revolution). There was nothing wrong with the basic video games that we being produced. And even today, they get more complex and enjoyable to play. But what point is too far? Do we really need to play scrabble on the Wii, 360, or Play Station? The boardgames of yesterday are now being produced in the masses to bring in more revenue for the video game industry.
And why can't we simply pull out the box and play with our "real life" friends? Oh, right, because then we won't be able to find the best competition possible. But seriously, is it that difficult to play Monopoly? Why would we need to find more competition online for a game based almost completely on luck...? Because that is what we are told to do....Will future youth be glued to the television screen, or will they learn to have common sense about what type of games are really worth playing on a console?

A Gamers Nation
Not only is it completely ironic that I was discussing this just last night with a group of friends, but Yahoo! Games obviously sees the same thing as us. World of Warcraft isn't just a simple game; it's a world all on it's own. Having a higher population of players than most small countries. Actually, I think it would rank in the top fifty nations with the 10 million people signed up to play...

The next wave in video games?
Over the past few months, "Rock Band" has become one of the most popular games among casual and hardcore gamers alike. The game has an interface that is easy on the eyes and in my opinion is far better than "Guitar Hero". Having the Drums, Singing, Bass and Guitar makes it easy to involve everyone. However, the game is still missing something....
After bringing my Xbox360 and "Rock Band" home for my parents to play, I received the most interesting response; they loved it. Not because of the graphics or the UI or any other small detail our generation would look at; but because of the general idea. The game is, in its own way, educational. The microphone teaches vocal skills as well as the proper lyrics to the song (did anybody know that was really what they said in "Dani California"?). The drums obviously teach rhythm, and are actually just the basic practice pad any parent would buy their children to put ease on their ears until their child got better. And then the guitar... no, it's nothing like the actual guitar; but it has the same idea and teaches the player what hand-eye coordination really is.
However great this game seems, have you ever wondered what happened to the keyboard in all of these songs? Half the songs have a completely empty solo for the keyboard; but there is nobody to play it. So instead we all sit there and watch our screens flow blankly across the screen. Wouldn't it be nice if Harmonix Music Systems would stop fooling around and create the game we all want? It wouldn't have to be a full size keyboard, but having something that could eventually teach children how to play piano or even the basics of what a keyboard is could be an incredible advance to modern video games.

Beer Pong
There tend to be so many slogans online when it comes to beer pong. Every person you talk to has their favorite and of course they find it extremely humorous even after repeating the line more than fifty times. So what I want to ask the world is this....
When is somebody going to come up with a new slogan?! They're all good, but they've been done before. We need newer, fresher ideas. Is there no creativity left in the world?
